If you paint furniture, have you tried SaltWash for texture?

If you paint furniture, have you tried SaltWash for texture?

Happy Friday everyone!

Looking at my calendar, we only have 7 more Fridays this year. That is unbelievable. I know, I keep going on about how fast the days go by, but they really do!

I thought that today would be a good day to tell you about a product I sell that is possibly one of the coolest things on the upcycler's need list. This product is called SaltWash. And it is used on furniture and decor to create texture and age. I have used it on furniture that is damaged to highlight the "flaws" and I've used it on regular furniture just to give it a more worn look. I've also used it on lamps, vases, and other decor to create a dimensional look.

SaltWash is a powdered paint additive that creates a unique weathered look on any surface. It was invented to recreate a time worn painted look that you see on beach cottages or furniture that has been in the sun or has been worn by salt water.

You can mix Saltwash into any type of paint- latex, oil, acrylic, chalk, milk, mineral, or clay. You use "about" equal amounts of paint and saltwash powder, mix together, and dab it onto the surface. Once it is dry, paint another color over the top of the saltwash paint mix, then when it is dry, sand or scrape gently to reveal the texture and color underneath. You can do this with several colors if desired to achieve a more layered look.

The great thing about this product is that it will adhere to most anything. No sanding or priming beforehand- the hardest thing about it is that the dabbing makes your arm tired haha! Just being real. But it is so beautiful when you finish that you won't care about the pain from the dabbing.

If you want more info- check out videos on YouTube or message me and I will send you some. Give it a try today~you won't regret it and you possibly will want to paint EVERYTHING with Saltwash after you try it.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend!
